Choosing a color from ‘Over the Rainbow Garden’
Billie Hayman’s garden is full of color and she shows how one color, yellow,… can cheer up any garden. Get out your paint cans and plant pots and let’s go!
Welcome to Billie’s Over the Rainbow Garden. She’s a busy bee, accomplishing so many improvements and projects out in her large Louisiana garden, that she’s begun her own garden page on Facebook, called Over the Rainbow Garden.
Stop by her page to see what’s Billie’s up to,…which is a LOT!
Billie says, “Since I am always hanging my tubs on my different fences I decided to make it pretty to look at! Working on number two!” Great idea worth stealing!
Billie was inspired like many of us are, by a rusty relic she found unexpectedly. She says, “I’m picking up some iron fencing I found on Facebook yesterday. I’m so excited because I’ve been looking for some that I can afford. They are very heavy iron , four small pieces and two large ones.”
She painted the fencing white and used it in this new sitting area, below.
Billie says, “My husband got this bistro table free from a job site. It was ugly and black. Here’s my redo! I painted it yellow to match my garden shed doors.” An overflowing pot of Golden Sedum sits on the table.
Yellow really brightens up this brick patio Billie built.
Gloriosa Daisies, looking just glorious! Billie calls these her ‘happy flowers.’
Billie’s yellow-painted old windmill blade looks like a huge flower n the fence.
One of Billie’s three garden bikes, spray-painted yellow and filled with Moss Rose.
“One of my favorite summer pictures! Love my blue jars!”
Billie’s glowing garden cart filled to the brim with lacy Dahlberg Daisies.
Using yellow-colored linens on a set of shelves is a quick way to add a load of bright sunshine to an outdoor area.
As Fall approaches, big pots of sunny Chrysanthemums and pumpkins add big spots of color.
You’ll never believe….Billie says, ” My dad made this sunflower out of a paint can. It was falling apart and I rescued it and made it into a sign!”
“I’m not the only one who loves sunflowers” Billie exclaims. This sunflower is buzzin’ with bees!
In this wagon is a favorite flower of mine, Golden Globes! They stand up to our awful summers and are one of my favorite colors yellow!
“I’m decorating with my dried sunflowers” Billie says. This is simply charming!
Billie: “This is an old light fixture from the church that hubby and I were married in!” Planted with yellow violas. Every item in Billie’s garden has a charming story of its own.
Billie says, ” When I saw this junkin’ I knew what I would use it for!”
