Totally terrific tool box planters

Antique Metal Tool Boxes Upcycled!

We love tool boxes for planters because they last! They last in all weather out in the garden and usually rust and dent and acquire lots of quaint character.  Jeanne Sammons was gifted this unusual tool box…and shows how she added her unique stamp on it. Plus we show a lot more new toolbox transformations for you!

She says, Here’s a unique galvanized box I got from my sis for Christmas … I was so surprised! She knows me and what I like!  I’ll have fun finding a place and planting it.

Jeanne “Here’s a unique galvanized box I got from my sis for Christmas … I was so surprised! She’s not a FMG’er! I’ll have fun finding a place and planting it this summer.”

Jeanne says, “So, my sis gifted me a beat up old galvanized box for Christmas … turns out it’s called a ‘Painters Tool Box’ (used to hold brushes and turpentine)… I sanded it a bit and hubby helped me add a rusty wrench to hold it open … daughter Barb cut me out the ‘flowers’  lettering on her Cricut and finally I got to plant it this week! It turned out so good! I’m happy!”

  • Laura Higgins says:

I love alternative planting containers. No plain clay pots for me! So I'm inspired to add a tool box to my cache of funnels, an ice chest, wash tubs and maple syrup buckets.
