Teri’s Cinderella mannequin
This is another of the most fabulous garden art pieces we’ve ever seen! The tea rose makes the perfect skirt….it reminds us of Cinderella.

Teri Smith says “My mosaic mannequin is dressed for a prom. After I got finished with mosaicing and grouting the mannequin I had no place for it….until my tea rose started blooming.
It began with Teri’s garage sale find!
Teri says, “I bought two at a garage sale years ago for $3.00 each. I used to sell on eBay and thought they would work great when I took pictures of clothes. Then when I stopped selling, I thought…what am I going to do with them now? I no longer sell,…and love to mosaic, so I said why not? I mosaic everything! That’s when I created my Prom. Lady. I still have one left and not sure where it will end up!”

“I had lots of left-over glass pieces, trinkets and odds and ends and it was a great way to use them up. Her skirt will be in bloom most of the summer.”

Teri says, “This is my summer project that I did and still have to grout and seal before winter sets in. I have to do some surgery and a face lift to create my garden people.”

Teri also made an amazing set of mosaiced steps. She says, “I used my left over pieces of tile, glass and other cool things I found to create my step fronts. The steps leads up to my garden get away.”

Teri says, “I call these my beaded sunshine garden wands. Using beads, wire. and a candlestick holder I created a rainbow of color for my flower garden.”
Teri says, “I found a picture that I loved of a star. As I was decorating outdoors for Christmas I showed it to my husband. This is what he came up with. It is beautiful and bright and I think he did a wonderful job.
My husband got our big ladder out and climbed up in our old cherry tree. From there he ran strings of garland lights down to the porch post. Ta da!”

I am amazed by your mosaics. I have saved some broken china to make something special but have to read up on it so I know what I am doing. Wish you were close by to give classes...love all of your garden crafts
Thank you Cookie. I took a class on how to mosaic many years ago and walked out of the class not knowing anymore than I already knew. I was very upset that I paid big bucks for a 8x10 piece of wood that the teacher had us glue glass pieces on. From there she told us here is the directions on how to grout and finish your project. So I had to do my own research and teach myself. If I was close to you I would love to show you.
Terri there are awesome books on how to do mosaics. I know I bought one and I've not made one yet. Ha! But seeing these great ideas has me wanting to get it out and make something. Beautiful artwork. I bet utube has how too ' s also as they have everything. Enjoy! Susan
I LOVE your Cinderella! What is she made of? She is so pretty with her floral skirt. Your steps are also beautiful! That must have taken awhile to do! I wouldn't even know where to start. Thank you for showing us your creations.

Thank you for your kind comment. My Cinderella top is an plastic mannigan bust that they use to display tops in a store. I mosaiced it with broken china and hung it above my tea rose bush. She gets allot of looks because it is right in my front yard. My mosaic steps leads up to my get away. It is where I do all my outdoor crafts and I'm surrounded by nature. It's just so peaceful!

Wow! That's beautiful! What did you use for adhesive to glue the pieces onto the mannequin? Do you have to bring it in for the winter? I'm in a really cold climate and I've had problems with mosaic pieces popping off in the winter. Thanks for sharing!
I used waterproof E6000. It seems to work best for all my outdoor projects. I live in the Northwest where we get lots of rain, so yes I do bring in some of my mosaic projects. If left outside around here the grout starts to crack even after sealing. Thanks for asking.
