You might ask at a hardware store for their advice....just tell them what you want to do and bring the lightning ball to show them!

I have a golden ball but it won't fit on my lightning rod. Any ideas? the opening is too small to slide on the rod? I thought about a wooden dowel but that wouldn't have a point on it. Would love any suggestions

I haven't seen these before, myself, but living in an area in California where lightening is hardly ever a factor.....it is no wonder. These are so beautiful, as well as the gardens that they are placed in. Thank you for sharing! This is a wonderful article!

I have never seen or heard of lightning rod balls. They are quite pretty in your garden, the different color balls look great together. I guess we don't get enough lightning strikes here in Northern California!
Thanks for posting.

I have always been fascinated by lightening rods. I don't have any, and I don't know why, I think that is about to change. The first time I ever saw any was this small area in Indiana, I think just about every house had them. There is a huge old Victorian home in Southern Kentucky that has several on the roof. I never thought to put any in my gardens. I love these totems they are just wonderful, I can't wait to get started. Thank you so much for posting this.

A great article. I saw one of the sky blue colored balls at an antique mall awhile ago but no rod with it. I will definitely keep my eye out for these in the future.
Love lightening rods and the balls. These are really pretty strung together. I may have to do that with mine. The only ones I have are the ones from my childhood home because here in Virginia they are quite expensive!
