Our discovery of one of Kelly Dickinson’s garden projects piqued our curiosity about what other works of garden art we might find if we held a virtual garden tour to Kelly’s quaint and rosy garden. Look at what other ideas we found!
I sure would like to see more of this idea! The new flat screen TVs have knocked these old entertainment centers out of popularity,…soooo, just see what Kelly did with one!
Kelly says, “My entertainment center is redone into a flower center!” Sections of metal roofing add a rustic look as well as some protection from the elements. Genius!
Kelly put a lot of attention into this repurposed piece…that old grate in the front and the drawer … ‘Bloom’ and the galvanized accessories … great Flea Market Gardening idea! We love the color and the old metal stool, too!
The tin roof just put the whole project OVER the top! It’s an imaginative idea to keep all our gardening tools and supplies all together, instead of searching all over…or trying to remember where we’ve put it!
Beverly Chrastil says, “I have a 5 by 5 foot beautiful red oak cabinet that I stained white and hand rubbed the finish. It was for a big 36 in TV and I made it into a pet cabinet. Yes, I dress up my Cairn terrier and poodle ‘granddog.’ All their clothes hang on a spring rod. And treats fit nicely in it. It would also be cute for little human baby’s things, too.”
HINT: Just like any wood structure, it needs weather-proofing such as “Thompson’s Water Seal”. I think the tin roof on this one will be helpful too. With proper care, it should last many seasons.
“The antique rose arbor. We’ve had a lot of rain down here and my flowers are sort of waterlogged! I live in Louisiana and we had a long bad winter… but for some reason the roses seemed to be beautiful this season…really enjoying their beauty!”
The sign on the fence says,
“Life Is Not Measured By the Breaths We Take, but By the Moments That Take Our Breath Away.”
Kelly says, “Here’s my hanging ‘coop’ made from an old window!” Kelly’s painting technique reminds us of using a sponge-paint method to make the ‘feathers.’ Her chickens make us smile.
Kelly says, “I painted this ‘chicken chest”….perfect for a country porch. The feet are Mason jars that have straw and an egg in them! The drawers feature canning jar labels under each knob. …and the little white hen is holding her prize-winning jar of pickled eggs!!”
“The ‘Scare-hen’…I snipped her out of tin! She keeps a watchful eye!”
“The Amish buggy hubby picked up that he turned into a shelf!”
