Jan Brown has been up in her attic and look what she found! Jan posted to us, “So I’m up in the attic looking around for something and find this, had forgotten about this light that had been replaced by a ceiling fan with light. I made a bird feeder out of it and the birds LOVE IT! The glass pieces are very heavy and thick so stand up well in our Oklahoma wind”

Mary Everett My old light fixture that I turned into a planter. It doesn’t get enough sun in this area for solar lights so I planted succulents, they will fill out and spill out over the sides in time. I did drill holes for additional drainage. There were some from dismantling but more were needed.”
Susan T Moxley says, “My flea market vintage chandelier. I up-cycled it with crystals and rustic wire. I have it in my “Pot House” aka potting shed that is my little hang-out get-away. I saw a wreath holder stand-thing that it could hang from it, OR I could hang it over a table in my living room. I forgot to put the candles on it for the picture.”
Vicki Burt-Jones I just wanted to share our solar garden light that my husband made. It’s an old chandelier purchased at a yard sale for $5 with $1 solar lights, bought at the Dollar Tree stores. We put them out in the spring, hot glued into the sockets and an LED light glued inside the top (solar). It hangs right over our picnic table. I love it!
The solar lights are just hot glued into the sockets. They’ve lasted through tons of nasty weather and so far…standing strong!
Sonia Kirk says,”I turned an old unused light fixture into a planter and candle holder for a unique outdoor fixture. I actually bought it at a garage sale many years ago. Instead of painting it I’m just going to let it rust.
The glass shades are removable and I left the bulb holders in place in case I want to replace the plants with taper candles for more light. I’ve wanted to do this for awhile and finally finished it. I can’t wait to set our patio table and dine in the candlelight!
