Kim’s cute and cozy cottage…inside

We last saw Kim Trudo’s garden in a full on Flea Market Gardening tour, Kim’s secret cottage garden, and its centered around an adorable cottage near the fence. Here she gives us a peek inside her sweet garden cottage!

C’mon in! Decorating a garden cottage interior

“Many of you have seen my garden Cottage on FMG before, I would like to invite you inside!” Kim says

Enter!

“As you enter the cottage (12×12) you see the walls are covered with an outdoor siding turned sideways to resemble barn wood. The focal point on the back wall as you enter the door is the shelving that holds most of my smaller treasures collected over the years. Some are antique, some are newer.’

“I decorated the three mosaic bird houses myself.  The little ceramic squirrels you see on the far fight corner belonged to my Grandmother. As we move around to the right are several salvaged pieces I’ve collected.”

Vintage details….

“The little rocker was found for $10.00! The table is actually a piano stool I converted into a table, the nice thing is it can be swiveled to any height you want️. The menu board is from a recent party and was too cute to throw out.

The little ladder with the antique linens is made from old tobacco stakes (we are in N.C.) The little ladies settee I had recovered and is very comfy.”

Collectible corner

This side table holds more of the painted china I collect. The jar with the handle is a cookie (they say biscuits) jar from England from the 1800’s.

$10.00 stained glass church window!

This stained glass window faces the front of the cottage and can be enjoyed from the garden or house. I got it for $10.00 over 20 years ago from a local church, …it was a steal even then!

The ‘kute’ kitchen area

“This is the kitchen area of the cottage. The enamel towel and soap holder I hand carried back from OR, the apron on the enamel pitcher belonged to my great-grandmother.”

My little bistro table to sit and have an iced tea on a warm afternoon of gardening.

Look up,…at the light!

“This is my $3.00 chandelier. I had to put on the blingalicious crystals but luckily I had enough because my husband surprised me with a bunch he found dumpster diving! I was never more proud of him when he came in with them.’

Little ladies lounge

“This is the view out to the porch area. The hankie valance is made from hankies that my grandma carried. I hope you have enjoyed the tour of my little sanctuary. Y’all come back anytime.”
