You may have a garden bed, I have a few, too! But,…do you have a garden bed? These Flea Market Gardening experts do! These talented gardeners scouted out old bed frames,…sometimes exceptional ones, and put them to decorative use in the garden.
We have all seen old bed frames at thrift stores, at Flea Markets and at yard sales. Now, we know what to do with them. You’ll get a few ideas, I know!
Audrey Osborn says, “ This is my “bedroom garden,” a white iron bed, filled with flowers. The Copper castor bean plant was supposed to be watching over the area but it didn’t get as tall as I had hoped.”
Nancy K. Meyer says, “My “flower bed” is a close to ‘flea market’ item as I can get! I found the frame in an ‘antique mall.’ I wanted to get the price down and the man said “you know the side rails are missing, and everything in the booth is 50% off already”, …I said I didn’t need the side rails, into the car truck it went!
My husband made the frame and painted the bed blue to match the trim on our big machine shed and the rest is history. I planted it with hostas and sedum. The Lab puppy is in memory of our dear Oggy we had for more than 12 years.”
Joni Eades made a darling fairy bed from twigs and moss. She says, “Use tack nails to secure placement. Glue doesn’t work and just ‘wrapping’ twigs will unravel over time.”

Janet Hill: “I found an old iron baby bed and use it for a planter in a wooded area of our yard.”
Tanya at Blondeponders Garden and Duck tales, discovered this..she says, “Here’s a pretty garden I visited on a garden tour…. The gardener has a Blue blue blue blue garden!”
Debbie McMurry says, “Here is my rusty old bed frame as a Daisy bed.”
Darcy Franco’s garden bed is nearly hidden…she says, “Here is my queen size flower bed. This year I put a pink and white impatiens quilt pattern. I’m hoping the woodchuck doesn’t get it before we get him.”
Some ‘beds’ can be placed in a large or small garden. This one fits in any small space. Kim Kick-Leifheit says, “My husband made this bench from an old wooden twin bed I purchased at an estate sale.
