Brides often say that they are visiting the flea markets to find vintage details for their wedding days. A Flea Market is the perfect place to find treasures that can be re-purposed into beautiful wedding decoration and a garden is a perfect venue!
Mason jars and old frames and clothespins are re-purposed and made to look pretty when combined with an inspired wedding idea. Mason jars decorate tables and aisles… this really adds charm to any garden setting. Andrea Hughes says, “For my daughter’s outdoor wedding and reception we searched high and low for antique blue Mason jars to use as vases on the reception tables. We finally located nearly 40 and embellished them with raffia bows and hot pink Gerbera daisies. The end result was a fitting compliment to our country setting! No fish…but we did have the little clear LED lights down in the bottom…as it got dark the jars started to glow a soft aqua blue…better than candles in the wind..”

“Menu chalkboard in vintage frame at our daughter April Cherilla’s Oct. 13, 2012 wedding reception; mums and pumpkins from local growers, held at ‘Just Enough Acres’, in Wooster, Ohio.”

Reception tables at April’s wedding on our 5-acre mini-farm. Tree slices cut from our own fallen trees, all bottles and vases flea market finds, antlers from groom and his friends, flowers from local florist, mini-pumpkin gourds from local grower.
“Reception beverages were served from these galvanized coolers, decorated by the bride.” Burlap wrapped labels and tiny pumpkins complete the look for this Fall wedding.
Robin Robinson, “Favors will be small mason jars filled with jelly beans, colors of wedding, with name tag tied around with string.”
“I also have a small engagement picture at top of clothespin,” she says.
“These are pictures of our daughter’s wedding we had in our yard. We had so many wonderful complements. We made everything ourselves. I made her bouquet out of my 37 year old wedding dress!”
Susan Richard tells us, “This is a wreath I made out of my husband’s Grandmothers old dictionary… for my daughter’s wedding! It’ very easy,just time consuming. You just cut your paper in a spiral,then roll the paper to form the bud.you play with the paper to get different affects.”
Susan Richard’s daughter, Kimberly Marie Grant says, “Another special touch to my wedding….loved this! It’s now hanging in our new home and will be something special to keep forever and pass on….”
