Barb Pawlik says,”My husband says I have to stop looking at your page!! He’s already made the birdhouse ladder, we’re working on the bowling ball thingy, and he drilled holes in our 45 years old Radio flyer wagon so I could plant flowers in it! He said he needs a week off.

Barb says, ” The wagon is 45 years old. Well, my son is also 45 but he doesn’t play with the wagon anymore and surely doesn’t live at home!”

Becky Norris: Just gotta love it. When I first discovered Flea Market Gardening, I asked that they tell me their secrets for stamina. I was worn out and had to go to physical therapy I did so much garden work. Welcome to the good times.

Jeanie Merritt: This disease is contagious, Barb, ..I am so sorry to hear that your husband may be exposed as well. Symptoms may include but not be exclusive to….checking the site each day to see what others are making,…… diving into dumpsters to retrieve old GOOD stuff others have discarded, a queasy feeling in your stomach while you sit in a crowd somewhere else and are wishing you were home working on your project,…..having coffee with a neighbor and not hearing a word she is saying because you are thinking if you have enough paint for that old chair you found at the auction….going out in your gardens in your PJ’s just to take a morning look at the project you finished yesterday…oooooooohing and awwwhing at rusty things at a flea market…. Well.. these are just a few….Good Luck!

Janene Nichols: We have not made the ladder thing.. yet, but I am in the middle of planting my husbands old work shoes with plants and he drilled holes in our old wagon last night..LOL
Kim Trudo When I asked my husband to drill holes in his boots that he wore in the Marine Corps, he almost cried!! He did it and it made the cutest planter, it got all mossy too.

Not to mention going to garage sales just to acquire more stuff for hubby to transform into an object of beauty. So long quiet afternoons of lounging around. Goodby to the hammock swing. I have a lot of projects I found inspiration for here on Flea Market gardening. I know my hubby will help me with them all. I am just waiting for the rain, we never have in CA, to stop so I can find some time to get them going. Love this blog and the Facebook page too.
We are still coming up with ideas about six years after the wooden wheelbarrow that my father in law created. My husband had an idea this spring on making an arbor so we could attract more hummingbirds. We finished it in May. It has a raised bed about 40 inches by 18 inches.He attached a plastice mesh to it using two layers to support the cardinal vine seeds I sowed. It was beautiful ,lots of other birds loved it ,too. I am waiting for the pods to turn to collect seeds for next year. The best thing is my husband surprised me by drilling holes into two half circles he made and added blue bottles to set on the top of the arbor !!

This reminds me of when my father lived with us for a couple of years. When the "Better Homes and Garden" magazine came in the mail, he'd tell my husband it hide it or he'd have some project to do. FMG is as good or better as it has many projects that I can do myself!
