Marie Tucey Wirth

Marie Tucey Wirth  First Place Winner in the ‘Upcycled Spring!’ Photo Contest!!

Marie wins a galvanized Sunflower watering can filled with seeds to plant this spring and an honored place on our May page banner!

We loved the originality and creativity shown here. This is so US! Stained glass was inserted into the spokes and the colors are perfect, even matching the rose. We thought it was clever to be mounted on the bike forks! Great job, Marie!

Judges comments:

It a perfect Flea Market Gardening project,…looks great with the rose and is just a good picture!

A perfect Flea Market Gardening project & it ‘spins,’ too!!!

Color, texture, recycled & it spins & it plays off that gorgeous rose bush!

I think we have a winner!

I really wish I could figure out what they used to solder this glass to this wheel. Maybe lead? GREAT inspiration!

Carol Ross

Carol Ross  Second Place Winner!

We loved the colors, composition and rust here, Carol,…just perfect placement! Congratulations!

Judges comments:

Drop-dead gorgeous! … real Spring flowers, colors, rust & close-up!! Looks like a ‘still life’ professional photo.

Just perfect. Someone really knows how to take a photo

Perfection! Placement of pots, different shades of terracotta colors with old handled tin pitcher … Spring blooms & rustola!

LOVE the lavender and rust

Linda Arbour

Linda Arbour   Third Place Winner!

In Linda’s picture, we admired the grouping of three objects, so deliciously junky, mixed with fresh flowers and chippy paint!  Congrats!

Judges comments:

Just love this one! It has all the color,…in all the Spring shades.

This has several great Flea Market Gardening treasures!

So pretty…gotta love an old window project!

It represents the start of spring to me!

Sue Loring

Sue Loring  Fourth Place Winner!

We loved the soft, vintage and timeless feel of Sue’s photo,…and the history of it!  It caught the judges eye with the faded blue of the watering can and the galvanized containers all lined up in a whimsical way.  Congratulations!

Judges comments:

The chippy blue bench placed in the foreground of this photo is the eye catcher …of course, the ‘line-up’ of Flea Market Gardening containers sells it for me! And the beautiful veggie gardens in the background do not take away from the photo. This one would make a great banner in itself!

Love the colors and galvanized containers filled with flowers…a blue watering can! Gotta get one!

Great garden, great photo!

This one just struck ‘home’ with me … the old chippy bench in it’s shade of gray/blue & then adding 5 old Flea Market Gardening goodies in a row …just loved it!

About the Contest

Today is Earth Day and the idea of this day is to reduce consumerism, recycle and reuse.  That is what we do at Flea market Gardening.  This year, we’ll celebrate Spring with a Photo Contest featuring the ‘upcycled‘ decorative junkola that we love so much in our garden.

Upcycled just means we elevate our junk by creating something delightful and beautiful with it! Get as creative as you want and we’ll have fun seeing all your Spring ideas!
