Laura’s antique ‘Little Shop’ garden

Flea Markets and Junk Shops, Shelters and Buildings

Come along with me to Laura’s Little Shop Antiques and Garden.  She is a Flea Market Gardener extraordinaire and we’ll get as many ideas here as we can hold.  Someday, let’s really go …

Cottage Garden Tour!

Laura and Randy Goines are a creative husband wife team, gardening and creating in their shop in Brookville, Ohio. They run an antique shop, Randy creates custom furniture and they also have a lumber store. Laura’s Mom has a shop next door.

This is my potting shed which used to be an old milkhouse. It's still too cold here in Ohio to go out in it but I am hoping to get in it at the end of this week (fingers crossed)

Laura says, “We have to repair the greenhouse this year. The bottom part was mostly salvage. The farm I live on has a bunch of old outbuildings and I wanted something to “match”. My husband Randy built this.”

Gate at Mom’s place…

“This is taken at my Mom’s shop next door to me. She and Dad collected iron fencing and gates. They are placed everywhere. This is one of the gates.”

This is my chicken coop. My husband & I made it out of salvage. The cupola on top is for ventilation. My birds are free range so this is mostly for roosting and laying.

Snowdrops

“Snow drops ready to bloom. They are always like this when it’s mild like this. They can get 2 feet of snow dropped on them and there they are,… waiting for me to notice.  I like the promise of spring they represent!”

Randy made the iron top for our gazebo. This is down by our bonfire site. It has proven to be a nice addition. The top looks like a giant crown.

Randy and the gazebo in the making

This was taken a couple years back. My husband Randy made the iron top for our gazebo. This is down by our bon fire site. It has proven to be a nice addition. The top looks like a giant crown.

On snowy nights, Laura and Randy’s greenhouse is stunningly beautiful. She says, “Kinda looks like a big ornament doesn’t it?”

Laura has a Facebook page for her shop The Little Shop Antiques and Gardens/ R.S Goines maker of fine Furniture and a blog.

OMG, this is in OHIO? This is now on my must visit soon list! I have admired that greenhouse, and I’m wanting to build one out of recycled windows and lumber. I can hardly wait to check this out in person.

What a joy to look at on an icy, snowy Wisconsin day! Love your creativity! Being an organic almost vegan – it’s really great to hear your chickens are free range and well taken care of! Thanks for sharing!!
